We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to helping others, in honor of our son, Omega London Wells. He was diagnosed with Trisomy 13 and died from heart failure in the NICU. While Omega fought for his life, my husband and I were by his bedside every day, fighting with him . During that time Omega's father was laid off from work and I (a disabled veteran) was discharged from the hospital with severely high blood pressure, after giving birth to him 12 weeks early. Omega passed away at four weeks old and we didn't know what to do, or where to start! He didn't have life insurance, a birth certificate, nor a social security number, he was only 4 weeks old! On top of grieving, we had to figure out burial and funeral expenses, and we still had 4 children at home. The sudden loss of our baby opened our eyes to the need for financial, mental health, food, gas assistance, bereavement resources, and support services, that are not only necessary while your baby is in the NICU, but also for several months after, (whether they are discharged or pass away). We formed this organization to provide solutions, support, and to bridge the gap, by helping others.
